The Challenge
This started as “we need a new website.” Quickly, we learned that the heart of the issue was an operational one.
Internally, even small updates required extra effort. Product changes, content updates, and ongoing maintenance weren’t easy to execute, which slowed the team down and created dependency on outside support.
At the same time, the product catalog introduced real complexity:
- Large sets of product options that didn’t display cleanly
- Configurations that didn’t fit standard e-commerce structures
- Scenarios where customers needed to input specific details or reference products directly
That complexity showed up in the user experience. Customers had to work harder to find what they needed. Product pages risked becoming overwhelming. And the buying process wasn’t as intuitive as it needed to be.
Then there was the added layer of managing two brands.
Viper Tool Storage and Pink Box serve different audiences and carry different brand identities. One leans more industrial and performance-driven. The other is more consumer-facing and lifestyle-oriented. Each needed its own experience, without creating double the work behind the scenes.
Client Priorities
Make both sites easy to update without ongoing developer reliance
Improve how complex product options are presented and selected
Make it easy for customers to self-serve and order online
Maintain distinct brand experiences for each site, each with a strong visual identity
Ensure strong mobile performance and accessibility
The Plan
The first step was choosing a better foundation for the site. Shopify was an excellent choice because of the robust eCommerce tools balanced with an easy-to-use backend interface.
From there, we focused on simplifying the experience for both users and the internal team.
We streamlined how complex product options are displayed, making it easier for customers to navigate configurations without feeling overwhelmed. At the same time, we created clear structures for both brands, giving each site its own identity while keeping backend management the same.
A structured QA process ensured everything worked as expected before launch, including real purchase scenarios. After launch, we supported refinements based on actual usage and trained the team to manage both sites confidently moving forward.
The Results
The biggest impact wasn’t just what the sites look like (which, to be fair: IS a big impact). It’s how they function day to day.
Easier Site Management
The internal team can now:
- Update products and content without outside help
- Manage large catalogs more efficiently
- Maintain two distinct sites without doubling effort
This is crucial for a growing brand, so they can retire product options and add new SKUs without headache.
Improved Product Navigation and Buying Experience
Customers can move through product options more easily, even when configurations are complex.
The experience supports how people actually shop.
Strong Brand Identity
Both sites don’t just work well…they feel right.
Viper Tool Storage delivers a bold, industrial look with dark tones and clean lines that reinforce durability and performance. It feels reliable, no-nonsense, and built for serious use. Pink Box brings color and personality to the design, speaking to its audience, including beauticians, in a way that feels expressive but still polished…never overdone or gimmicky.
Each brand connects with its audience through visual storytelling, while maintaining a consistent functionality.
A Platform That Supports Growth
Instead of becoming harder to manage over time, both sites are now built to scale.
New products, updates, and changes can be made without disrupting the system or requiring coding experience.
By focusing on usability, structure, and long-term maintainability, Viper Tool Storage and Pink Box now have e-commerce systems that support both their customers and their internal team, without slowing anyone down.
