Digital marketing often feels like you're barely keeping your head above water. Riding the wave of algorithmic and behavioral changes is a never-ending battle.
The most successful digital marketing efforts include a detailed overarching strategy with clearly-defined personas, and a mix of data-backed tactics including inbound marketing, paid campaigns, content creation and more.
But not every win requires big budgets and maximum effort. A few simple strategies can make a big impact over time. Let's supplement your efforts with some quick wins.
The best part? These quick wins don’t require a full campaign. They don't require deep technical knowledge, just an hour of focused effort and a willingness to work smarter.
Low Effort, High Impact Digital Marketing Strategies
1. Use AI to Synthesize Data
AI is a great way to parse large amounts of data quicker than the human brain. While you don't want to take everything AI says without double-checking for accuracy and clarity, the process of using AI and then checking your work is much faster than doing all of the heavy lifting and research yourself. Some the ways I use AI to synthesize data are:
- Identifying my key audience(s), what type of content they engage with, and where they spend their time online
- Comparing my competitors' efforts against each other and against my efforts
- Identifying content gaps on my website
- Exploring emerging customer and industry trends
- Creating a concrete marketing plan with specific tactics

2. Repurpose, Repurpose, Repurpose
Once you've done the heavy lifting to write a piece of content, you can remix it and flip it into endless pieces of marketing collateral. Let's take this blog as an example. Once I've written this blog, I can repurpose the content multiple ways:
- Summarize and send the same info as a marketing email
- Use AI narration to create an audio version (you'll see that at the top of this blog!)
- Take that narration and split it into clips, then add graphics or subtitles and turn those clips into short-form videos for social media
- Take information from this blog and turn it into endless posts on social (LinkedIn carousels, graphics with tips or even just link back to this blog)
- Expand what I've written into a downloadable eBook
- Re-publish this blog to my personal LinkedIn
Don't feel like you need to reinvent the wheel for all of your marketing efforts. The smartest marketers repurpose high-performing content to maximize output.
3. Optimize Your Google Business Profile
When was the last time you took a look at your Google Business Profile? If it's been a while (or never), take the time to optimize. This strategy is particularly important if local search is a key business goal. Optimizing your profile doesn't have to be hard:
- Make sure you've filled out all information - contact info, details, hours, location, accessibility, etc. New features get added to Google profiles regulary - check back often.
- Add new photos - you can include photos of your physical location as well as product photos, customer photos and event photos or videos.
- Respond to reviews - Google (and users) reward businesses who engage with reviews, both positive and negative.
Optimizing your profile helps you show up more often in local search and maps. Even for businesses where local search is less of a priority, optimizing your profile tangentially improves your overall Google presence.
4. Add Clear CTAs to Pages
Help visitors on your site become customers by guiding them through their buyer's journey with clear CTAs (calls to action). Consider the intent behind each page and what the next logical action should be. For example, most service pages benefit from a button or embedded form to request a quote. Product pages need an option to purchase (or get a quote). The logical next step after reading an informational page is to look at a comparison chart, service page or chat with a representative.
Take the time to review the pages on your site. Adding new CTAs or updating existing CTAs is an easy way to make a big impact with minimal effort. You don't need to rewrite a whole page: you just need to maximize conversion opportunities.
5. Update Old Blog Posts
Out of all the recommendations on this list, this is probably the most effort - but it's still pretty easy. You don't necessarily need to rewrite old blog posts completely, but doing some basic refreshes helps keep content relevant and improve your SEO. Some basic fixes are:
- Updating stats and links
- Refreshing CTAs
- Updating outdated info
- Adding a bulleted summary for AI search
- Updating the publication date
These small tweaks help keep your content relevant without requiring additional writing.
Each item on this list is about an hour of work tops, but delivers value for months - sometimes longer. These aren't just temporary fixes: they're strategic moves that quietly power your marketing in the background while you focus on bigger initiatives.
Instead of constantly treading water just to keep up, these tactics help you float on the waves. And while no strategy is completely future-proof (we all know how fast algorithms and platforms can change), these give you a solid head start and some much-needed stability before the next big shift hits.
