The Challenge
GDD, or Growth-driven Design, is a process of continual improvement. Rather than the old “set it and forget it” approach to web design, GDD relies on data to make calculated, informed decisions.
The specific goal for 2023 was to increase the traffic to the “Find Your Career” page 100% through optimized navigation and ease-of-use for every visitor. This goal is a tenet of the overarching goal: creating clear and consistent pathways for each type of user on the site.
Client Priorities
The ability for employers to fill out forms and create a job listings while still going through an approval process
The ability for candidates to be able to easily fill out an application form and attach a resume if they want to
Increase candidate traffic to job postings
Attract more highly qualified candidates to match with employers
The Plan
Overall, we wanted to increase traffic to the site and decrease roadblocks for users when they go there. To do this we proposed:
- Adding pages to the website geared towards Strom’s highest volume, job-specific industries: warehousing, assembly, manufacturing, engineering and drafting
- Revamping the website’s navigation and highlighting the “Find Your Career” service throughout
- Creating a clear, concise user journey with strategically placed call to action (CTA) sections that make it simple for the user to take the next step
The Results
We shouldn’t brag, but the numbers don’t lie
101%
Traffic increased to "Find Your Careers"
70%
Increase to organic traffic
Not only are the changes to the site increasing Strom’s visibility on the web and the number of visitors it receives, the updates are capturing and engaging more users applying to its job posts. Making it easy for candidates to connect with potential employers led to far more quality employment matches, thus reinforcing Strom MN as a valuable partner in the recruitment field.
